| Mexican movie, by Guillermo del Torro (also director of 'Hellboy'). I haven't watched it yet, but I saw its trailer - amazing visual effects! I just hope the movie as a whole is worth its Oscar! Who has already watched it? Would you strongly recommend the movie to Clan Centurio members or is it just another mega-mediatised poor movie? | |

| Well that is strange... Never imagine it would have got an oscar... It's like telling that Lord of the rings is the worse film ever... it makes no sense!!! Anyway, must be a good one... I would have choosen The Prestige as an oscar candidate.... but not Pan's Labyrinth...
Anyway!!! I'm a Rear guard now!!! Mwahaha! 150th post! | |

| Man! We'd think you're aiming for the highest rank! Strange indeed! I thought it would be tight between 'The Prestige' and 'Pan's Labyrinth', but Pan won largely! | |

| well, i watched the film and the end actually made me cry...to think I'D cry over a film...che!! that's really rare. i did not cry for even titanic, so just imagine this one. it's really good. love the story. it's incredible to see how humans can be monsters...sadisme à l'état pur....monsters are nothing compared to humans. at least for them you know it's their nature to be so...but to think human beings could stoop to such level of sadisme....brrrr!! some gore bits but that can be overlooked. the story's good. i loved every bit of it, especially the end. never could an ending fit better. there's an error in the title in the translation i think. it is in fact "el labyrinto (?not too sure here...) del fauno" which would be "le labyrinthe du faune"...not pan, who's the god...this one never says his name's pan. | |

| Thanks for the description Shizu! Makes me want to watch the film! As for the title's translation, maybe it's a marketing strategy aimed at attracting learned people : The Labyrinth of Pan is more striking than 'The Labyrinth of a monster or monsters or beast'. Pfft., do you realise there are so many people out there who say "Pan's Labyrinth" without even realising who Pan is! Aaarrrggghhh! From what I've seen in the trailer, the story is about a little girl, there are strange corridors, and weird monsters in there also... | |

| *gasp* (Eta 'couyon'! Shame on you!!!) just joking! Well, that's mythology...Greek mythology to be more precise. Pan is one of the greek/roman gods. Often pictured with the upper body of a man, with horns, and the lower body of a goat... He is supposedly the creator of that funny wind instrument (the one with some pipes/tubes fixed to each other...)... Also often associated to Bacchus/Dionysos and his cult, and unfortunately often assimilated to another creature, Sylvan or something like that, will check soon... | |

| that was background information from nat...thanks, you're avoiding me a lot of explanation. the story is about ofélia (????is that how you write it??). she's the lost princess of an imaginary kingdom. her soul was lost for the princess longed to get out of her kingdom to see the human world. her father the king opened gates everywhere for when she would come back, their would be guides to accompany her. in fact, they only need her soul...the satyr in the film (soi-disant pan!! bandes d'incultes!! chi!!!) is the guide who has to help her come back. she's got three tests to check if she has not become mortal. and that's the main story. alongside, there's her step father the super sadique du film...and her mom who's in fact...hehe; won't tell who she is. just watch the film or i'll end up spoiling it entirely!! phew, long explanation, no?? now, you all pay me... | |
