Queste parole di colore oscuro
vid’ ïo scritte al sommo d’una porta;
per ch’io: «Maestro, il senso lor m’è duro».
Ed elli a me, come persona accorta:
«Qui si convien lasciare ogne sospetto;
ogne viltà convien che qui sia morta.
Noi siam venuti al loco ov’ i’ t’ho detto
che tu vedrai le genti dolorose
c’hanno perduto il ben de l’intelletto».

Challenge: Find out where these lines are from and translate them!
(These are the lines engraved upon the gates of Clan Centurio Basilica.)

Well, i would rather say its ZOULOU!!!Suspect
Do i get a point too?scratch
And anyway, This seems like a 'secte' especially the front picture!
i tried tanslating it using words and it says:

These words of color dark vid' ïo written to the highest d' a door; for ch' I: "Teacher, the sense lor m' is
hard".

And she to me, like shrewd person: "Here itself convien leave ogne suspect; ogne cowardice convien that here is
dead.

We siam come to the I rent ov' the' t' I said that you will see the grievous people c' lost the quite l says'
intellect".

Nope, its not Zulu! lol! . No points for that.
But you do get a good mark for trying to translate it. Wink Your translation is quite close to the answer.

About the main picture, I wanted to make a closed or secretive community, or sect-like effect. Looks like it's a success lol! The idea of the forum itself is based on a community where we share our opinions and knowledge (les "cozeurs kk" aussi)Very Happy

But don't worry. It's not like we were Raelians or from "Témoins de Jehovah" , now that's scary!! lol!

We'll wait for our members to do some research work first. Then I'll give a new translation.
Also try to find where these lines come from, from who they are, etc.

oookie doookie!! here's your translation:

These words ― their aspect was obscure ― I read
inscribed above a gateway, and I said:
“Master, their meaning is difficult for me.”

And he to me, as one who comprehends:
“Here one must leave behind all hesitation;
here every cowardice must meet its death.

For we have reached the place of which I spoke,
where you will see the miserable people,
those who have lost the good of the intellect.”
it's by Dante Alighieri (of course, who else??....). it's the beginning of his Third Canto in his very famous "Inferno"...easy guess there, nat...could have made it harder there, no?

let me add two verses for the beginning to be complete:

«Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore:
fecemi la divina podestate,
la somma sapienza e ‘l primo amore.

JUSTICE URGED ON MY HIGH ARTIFICER;
MY MAKER WAS DIVINE AUTHORITY,
THE HIGHEST WISDOM, AND THE PRIMAL LOVE.

Dinanzi a me non fuor cose create
se non etterne, e io etterno duro.
Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate».

BEFORE ME NOTHING BUT ETERNAL THINGS
WERE MADE, AND I ENDURE ETERNALLY.
ABANDON EVERY HOPE, WHO ENTER HERE.

Queste parole di colore oscuro
vid’io scritte al sommo d’una porta;
per ch’io: «Maestro, il senso lor m’è duro».

These words ― their aspect was obscure ― I read
inscribed above a gateway, and I said:
“Master, their meaning is difficult for me.”

Ed elli a me, come persona accorta:
«Qui si convien lasciare ogne sospetto;
ogne viltà convien che qui sia morta.

And he to me, as one who comprehends:
“Here one must leave behind all hesitation;
here every cowardice must meet its death.

Noi siam venuti al loco ov’i’ t’ho detto
che tu vedrai le genti dolorose
c’hanno perduto il ben de l’intelletto».

For we have reached the place of which I spoke,
where you will see the miserable people,
those who have lost the good of the intellect.”

well, i've got another, more literal translation i think...here goes:

<H3>[color=#33cccc] JUSTICE MOVED MY MAKER CELESTIAL;

I WAS CREATED BY THE DIVINE POWER,

BY THE SUPREME WISDOM, AND BY LOVE PRIMEVAL.

ONLY ETERNAL THINGS ARE OLDER

THAN I; AND I WILL FOREVER ENDURE.

ABANDON EVERY HOPE, YOU WHO ENTER.

These words, of color obscure,

Above a gate I saw chiselled;

At which I: "Master, these words are of a hard nature."

And he replied, as one experienced and skilled,

"Here must every hesitation be left behind,

And all cowardice killed.

We have come to where I warned you we would find

Those wretched souls who no longer have

The intellectual benefits of the mind."

i prefer that one...

[color:ec61=#33cccc:ec61]soooooooo....where's my prize????
